Holy $”-t! I thought you were joking, just googled it, time to jump ship. They will say things won’t change, in 6 months Abilene will be run like they run Knight and Swift.

 

Yeah, totally wasn't joking. Got a Qualcomm message about it this morning.

Apparently my joking comment to JohnBoy about working for Swift wasn't actually a joke.

They always say "Nothing will change". But if that's the case, why sell? Why buy? You don't buy another company just to keep things the way they are.

I thought about replying to the company-wide QC message with "Is it too late to ask for a recount?" But I don't think they know me well enough to get my sense of humor.

Well, not much to do now but wait and see.

I just spoke to the two Knighs guys hanging out in Safety. Gave them my concerns about the validity of the "everything will run the same" claim, I'll believe it when I see it. Guy said this was an investment and you don't mess with a good thing (I'm paraphrasing that last part.) He also gave two examples of companies they've done the same with, Bar-None and some tanker outfit out of Grainger, IA, I don't remember the name he gave for them. Gonna do some serious research on them tonight. Now, I'm as pessimistic as they come, even fatalistic in my outlook at times, but even I have to admit all we can do is wait and see.

 

Yup, I'm in the process of signing up for a YouTube account so I can make videos and join in the drama of the Knight vloggers.

In all seriousness, I would love their system of load info being sent by text message to your phone in addition to the QC. Don't have to worry about keeping QC on when you can't idle or sitting in the truck at all.

 

No need for another job. Just grab a seat on the patio and hold court with the complainers.

Make sure to transflow in a copy of the BOL even if it isn't signed. Last time I dropped at Elkridge they somehow lost track of the BOL and kept contacting Abilene asking for proof of delivery or whatever which resulted in Payroll AND my driver manager constantly asking me to send in proof of delivery.

I kept telling them it was an after hours drop and that I left the BOLs in the mailbox outside receiving as instructed therefore I have nothing to send in.

This went on for nearly a month.
