I drove while inactive on the QC. I was bobtail, not loaded, but that is no longer allowed by Abilene. I also used PC when I had an empty trailer. That one i knew Abilene didnt want us to do, but kinda figured it was DOT legal and never caused an issue before. I wont do it now though. I even hestitate using PC while bobtail now. Much rather use my drive time to go get groceries etc rather than run the risk of another write up.

Our safety department’s only jobs are to send out hate mail for log violations and look for reasons to revoke safety bonuses.

I have found a place worse than Battery Dantzler.

Imagine, if you will, Battery Dantzler. Only with even less clearance between the front of the truck and the curb.

And then imagine that, instead of the curb, there's a guardrail.

That's where I'm parked right now, since they unload me in the morning and they said I could sleep here tonight. Unlike the guy in the picture, I am actually MOSTLY straight in the door. But it took a few tries.

Doesnt look as bad from the pic, but of course if there are other trailers in the doors that changes everything. Battery Danzler still has those ramps (depending on the door) that you need to get your tandems lined up on.

HP must have got a real good deal/tax break to move into Battery Dantzler. They sure didn’t have OTR trucks in mind. I will say it again, if the company requires us to drop trailers there, then they should say squat about the poop that gets hit. I mean really, that 5 feet we are missing to make that swing isn’t much is it? And it’s not like the local single axle trucks are never there.

Sounds like my company. “Here, go do your local work in this sleeper truck”. You should see some of the places I’ve been recently.

Does anyone that has a Kenworth can tell me if it's true that you can reset the truck computer by turning the key 7 times and on the 8 turn you must turn the truck on? (I have tried that and it won't work).

I go to a place like that in Los Alamitos Calif called Trends Offset. A printing place, pick up magazines and inserts. Took me 20 minutes to back into their angled docks and there was empty slots on both sides of my dock. Def a day cab zone.

The saddest aspect is that its so close to the yard that the jockey truck could run over there put the trailer in a door yet they insist on sleeper trucks getting battered.

Last time i had to put the trailer in a door the clutch got so hot that error messages were going off, it would longer select a gear and i had to roll the windows down to air out the stench.
