I’m glad I don’t deliver to any places like that.

My worst just requires a chock on both sides since having a liftgate makes the dock restraint ineffective.

That's the thing: They had the dock-locks. If someone drove off outta their dock while a lumper was in the trailer, it's because one of their employees didn't lock the dock-lock or they unlocked it when they shouldn't have.

I even offered to disconnect from the trailer and park bobtail on the other side of the parking lot and not hook back up to the trailer until I got the all-clear. But nope. Gotta sit here in this freakin' cage or we won't load you. It's completely asinine, and IDGAF what BS reasons they use to justify it.

I delivered to a place in Towson once that required you to:

-Detach your brake lines so they could lock the gladhands
-Sit inside the facility instead of your truck
    -Give them your truck key

Any one of the three would be sufficient to ensure the safety of their employees. All three at once is just stupid overkill with no consideration for the driver.

When these driverless trucks show up, all this will be a moot point.

Michelin in SC has that beat.

Disconnect red line and attach gladhand lock. Go inside, hand over keys which get locked inside a lockbox then sit on a specific chair beside said lockbox.

The guy that unloaded me was a bit of a rebel. He said I could stand beside the chair if I wanted stretch my legs, but had to remain within his sight.

Hope he didnt get written up for that small mercy.

Who am I kidding, I don't care if he got in trouble or not.

Trailer 7188. Can anyone tell me how in the world it was 6 months overdue for inspection? I can see maybe a month, 2 at the most before someone noticed, but 6 months? Bless their little pea picking hearts. Now I have to sit here at the yard and wait for one of our "mechanics" to get to it before I can roll with it. Good thing it's a shorter load for Monday.

Ive had one like that, it was close to 5 months over. It was preloaded at Gatorade in Columbus, heading to Super Valu in VA.

I took one for the team and ran with it rather than try to get the load swapped at stupid o'clock in the morning.
