Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Just a heads up it was an empty I dropped there.

 

If it was me, I would rather reach the Jacksonville Pilot on the weekend, and wait for Monday to roll around there. Rather than trying to drive through Jacksonville traffic Monday morning.

 

If it's Frank Octane (I'm not sure I spell the last name correctly) he had cancer went under treatment and was doing ok the last time I saw him months ago.

 

I have a plan of action as prescribed by dispatch. Dont know yet if it will work until I get there tomorrow morning. If it doesnt, I will be mightily pissed at yet another wasted day.

 

It will work, I have dropped there on weekends.

 

It certainly worked. I have to say I had my doubts as I am on the, how shall we say, portly side.

 

So those 2 days I spent on the yard last week were a total waste as one of the issues I wrote up has returned and the other was never fixed in the first place.

I have therefore come to the conclusion that the shop either cannot or will not fix the truck. I just now decided that I wont be writing it up for those issues again. The cost in downtime (and frustration) just isnt worth it.

Maybe that was their objective all along.

 

I was there a week ago and Abilene hire a new mechanic... Bill was his name a very nice fellow. Go talk to him or Manuel.

 

Ive spoken to Bill before, very friendly and enthusiastic. Pretty sure he said it was his first mechanic job after finishing training school. Hope this industry doesn't change him.
