There are tons of straps (and other stuff) piled up in the back of the detail bay adjacent to the shop. The mechanics know this too because thats where they go to hideout and play on their phones.

These required straps are a must have for our Compton Ca to Whitakers Nc load that we do at least 2 times a day M-F. You would think the company would devise a system a little better then having the driver buy 3 as needed. I’ll bet you I’ve bought at least 15 @ $21.95 each and lost all but 3 because I’ve dropped the sealed trailer in West Memphis. Let’s not even get on the load lock discussion.

Thanks but I had already left the yard. But Joe said to check at the guard shack and those guys told me to go right back to the shop. Richmond isn't the terminal I'm out of, but I'll remember where to look next time. I haven't been to the wash bay yet either. Usually don't have time for that.

As long as they reimburse, I guess that's what I'll have to do if I get a load that requires them before I get back to a yard. Next time I get to wytheville, I'll get more than a few. As far as load locks go, I don't have any of those either. I'm thinking my old freightliner had a mount on the back to hold some of those..I think...but not sure. That was years ago. What do you think I'll get out of Miami? I've hauled beer from Tampa out but not sure on this side.

More then likely a deadhead up to Georgia. I think I’ve loaded maybe 3 times this year out of Florida off hometime. The best load is Savannah Ga to West Jefferson Oh. Target DC to Target DC. Drop and hook on both ends. Easy peasy. And 1125 miles. Oh, they reimburse for straps and load locks, no questions asked.

Was reading the news this morning. You know that Chesapeake tunnel and bridge that sometimes we take to pick up a load. According to the news a truck hit a van during a storm and crash going into the bay. They found one person inside the truck but they think there should be another. I just sometimes hate going through there!

I have always found it to be unnerving driving through that tunnel. The main reason is the opposing traffic is right next to you. I have never driven through it with Abilene though.

    Redtwin and Silverdriver Thank this.
