It sound like Abilene being cheap, not to sound harsh, but I believe this company will do whatever they can to not pay a driver.

Anyhow, I put in for one hour of detention last pay period and got it. Also put in for layover and got it, though I did not get the amount I think I should've gotten, and there will be a Phone Call(tm) tomorrow about it.
I have never gotten the feeling that Abilene is out to shaft their drivers, which is one of the reasons I have been happy to stay. There have been a couple of times that my DM has told me "We're going to pay you layover for this" when I didn't really think the situation called for it. (But hey, I ain't gonna argue.)
If it turns out that I'm going to lose detention just because the work spills over into my 10-hour break, then I'll just make sure to stay on-duty until the load is ready and not go on my 10-hour break until afterwards. If that makes the load late or makes me unable to haul needed freight, them's the breaks. -
Lonesome Thanks this.

Thxs
Are u a driver for them -

Cool
How many miles r u getting. I’m thinking
Regional -
I'm OTR, though I do a lot of NE stuff as well because dispatch knows I don't mind. I averaged 2850 miles/week last year. I coulda got more if I'd pushed it a little harder, but I like my downtime. -
Thxs Extreme,
Do u know on miles for regional drivers. Thxs -
I don't want a log violation, but if that's the only way to get detention pay... -
I was approved by Abilene. Will start at end of this month.
