    Today's amusement:

Got a phone call from DM. "We need you to swap trailers with another driver in La Crosse, VA, and bring it back to Hill-Phoenix."

Okay, no problem. Except that my Battery Dantzler sense is tingling.

Punch "La Crosse" into my GPS to find out how far away it is while I'm waiting for messages with the other driver's phone number. Find out that it's a mile away.

Contact other driver. Turns out he is in the WalMart parking lot behind the Pilot in South Hill. And I am parked at the Pilot in South Hill. Like, we could literally see each other from where we were parked. So he drove the 100 yards or so to park next to me at the Pilot and we swapped trailers.

I got paid TWO WHOLE DEADHEAD MILES for that. Easiest 78 cents I've ever made.

It is Battery Dantzler, though. Bah.

Reminds me of last year when I was sent to pick up an AMX (storage) trailer from a business in Richmond. Get there and go to hook up and find that there is literally nothing to hook to. Someone had stolen the electrical box, the glad hands-everything. Of course, dispatch didn't believe me so I had to take pics and send them. Don't know what happened after that.

On the earlier mud flap issue. I don't think it was a driver that left it that way. This is like the 3rd trailer that I have picked up from Sysco in Suffolk that was missing a mud flap, and there's no evidence of it having been ripped off, so it's most likely someone stealing them.

A violation of common sense would be the first thing that comes to mind.
