Unfortunately he’s on disability due to two strokes. Life has been hard for him since getting off the road.

 

Dear driver that picked up trailer 7610 in Norfolk VA today,

You aren't very bright (I'm trying to use my nice words these days). You picked up this trailer with 40,874 pounds and didn't bother to scale it until Disputanta when you passed 2 or 3 other opportunities along the way. AND you drove from Disputanta without the pins being locked in-with almost 41,000 pounds in the box. That alone is a special case of stupid (sorry, I can't think of a nicer way to say it).

Dear 3 people I spoke with in dispatch about this load (I'll be nice and not call out names),

Thanks for having the wrong freaking trailer number on the load so I sat and waited FOR 3.5 HOURS for that trailer to get here when the correct trailer WAS SITTING ON THE YARD THE WHOLE FREAKING TIME, effectively killing my clock.

And finally, a big THANK YOU to the local night dispatch guy (the one with the big beard in the shack) who finally took a closer look and figured it out.

I need a vacation from this place. And am taking said needed vacation next week. 10 whole days of no Abilene. And 7 days of day drinking and wave watching.

 

I was thinking about him the other day. I knew his health was bad, but had lost touch. Give him my best (such that it is) next time you speak with him.

 

Few months back, I picked up a trailer on the Richmond yard that had the tandems slid all the way back -- and it had come from Chesapeake. Wonder if it was the same guy.

 

Man, you weren't kidding about the fridge. Just peeked inside one. Double-bunk, so that's nice, but yeah, that fridge is about half the size of mine. Also got rid of the ladder in favor of making the fridge a step to get up to the top bunk.

 

Fun fact: In the last 5 days, I've moved 221,478 pounds of koolaid products.

 

Dunno. 1795 was the truck # on the scale ticket.

 

That gatorade can be real lucrative,to me it gets tiresome running over the mountains everyday.
