Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

I remember driving past that place one night. It was dark, and it was raining pretty heavily. And some truck had managed to get the top of its trailer tangled up with some low-hanging wires on the telephone pole outside. Just as I drove past it, he pulled the pole over at a 45-degree angle and sparks flew out of the connectors. I'm sure that was an exciting night for everyone involved.

 

@5speed & @ExtremeUnction next time they want me to take a load that requires either of those (WV tpk or Gatorade), I'll be sure to inform them that you guys would love to handle that instead of me!

Thanks for the update. I used to follow his thread also. He once accused me of stalking him since I asked him so many questions. I wish him the best.

 

I liked doing those when I was there. I did it for eight days in a row one time. I told dispatch that I liked doing the Gatorades runs. It was a long time before I got another one. I rarely got them after that.

 

Same. Those are easy miles, the PFJ in Chillicothe has a Moe's, and there are two different places for me to get Indian food between Wytheville and Indy. What's not to like?
