Lawd have mercy! Night shift is for the birds! I can't wait to get wherever and go to bed. These old bones can't stay up all night anymore. I think the entire length of I-85 in SC is under construction and half of NC. Had to detour in NC because it was closed completely. But, I got the load here to Colonial Heights on time. Even though it was 2 hours late being loaded. The other guy that had the 4:30 appt stopped somewhere along the way because he was just too tired.
Silverdriver, Redtwin and ExtremeUnction Thank this. -
Up here in Mahopac, NY. Just delivered a full trailer of coolers to a grocery store under construction. Waiting for next assignment.
Everybody up here talks like JohnBoy.

If I do 3 runs driving all night; I will be ready to go into the cemetery!JohnBoy Thanks this. -
These wait times are ridiculous on Monday mornings. I got empty up here in Indy at 1830 last night and as I type this, still no load. I've sent messages that I was ready to go at 830, 930, 1030, and about to be another one in 30mins.Finfn1372 Thanks this.

This is where they'll let you sit all day bugging them and since your clock hasn't started give you something that has to run all night to get there. If that ends up being the case a quick, polite call over to Safety is gonna head off any chance of you being coaxed into doing something potentially unsafe.

Lol, I guess I should feel the same since I'm going home this weekend. Its not just this company though. I've been driving a short 10 years and every company I've worked for has been like this, yet they claim trucking is 24/7. I see where the real shortage is. It's not drivers....its after hours personnel. Or at least ones that can make a decision.

True, I understand what you're saying but if I had gold to bet, I'd bet my next load will be a koolaid going back to Wytheville. I haven't had a load over 500 miles in the last month.
