I spent 18 years in the restaurant business. It takes a lot to faze me.

 

You know why we cant get raises?.... I know...its because we spend all our profit on "new" truck repairs. Yes, you read that right. Brand new Volvo 19xxx, driver side fairing already busted and hanging on by 2 bolts. Seen it on the WM yard, just a few mins ago.

 

That's partially why I wouldn't want a brand new truck. Any damage, even just a stone chip on the hood, will stick out like a sore thumb.

 

That shouldn't be a reason. Driver error caused that damage. It's big damage too. I think it should go by seniority. Or maybe the driver had been here a while, either way, that damage could have been prevented.

 

Hard to imagine that not being driver error. My comment was more about how I would feel personally. Its like that with anything new, even sneakers. That first scuff is always the worst.

Oh yeah, I agree. It just irritates me a bit. My truck is great. A few issues, a day in the shop would correct but that. Ehhhh. I kind of take it personally. I think to myself, people see that....then that reflects on my ability because I work here too. Same thing goes for trashed nasty trucks. But, they'll get a slap on the wrist or nothing at all, and I'll get that same truck 3 years from now, with it still not repaired.
