Nope. I was in that mess at 4am. I’m now sitting in Rolla Mo. that’s one of ours though, 77 north just over the Va/WVa line.

I woke up at 3:30 this morning at the new Loves in Covington Va on 64. Went in and got a coffee, was snowing as I was leaving. By the state line I was on snow packed roads and near whiteout conditions. 15 miles past the Beckley service plaza it was dry roads.

This was me yesterday, stuck on an on-ramp just north of Roanoke:
I had watched a truck fishtail and almost jackknife about a hundred feet in front of me, and that, combined with the fact that I had massive trouble sleeping the night before and was basically driving in this mess in a sleep-deprived condition was all the encouragement I needed to try to find a place to park.
Rest areas were full, so I pulled off on an exit to park on the side. Didn't see the "NO PARKING" sign until I was right next to it because it was facing across the street instead of towards the oncoming traffic. At which point I couldn't get enough traction to get up the on-ramp.
Couple hours later, a parade of snow plows came through and cleared the road enough to let me get back on the freeway. Made it to the truck stop on the hill past Ironto. Got stuck for almost an hour trying to back in to a parking space. Finally got the guy with the snow plow to help clear me out and went to find a different spot. Found one, got stuck *again* trying to turn around to back in. Managed to recover from that on my own and just said "screw it" and parked nose-in.
Once the spring thaw rolls around, I'll be back on the road. These Volvo parts will only be a few months late.Barn Door Bill, Lonesome, Bumper and 2 others Thank this. -

Seen seven or eight rollovers in the past 100 miles. The most impressive one so far was the truck on its side on the right hand shoulder, facing towards oncoming traffic. Both guard rails on either side of the median were undamaged, so it does not seem like he jumped the median from the northbound lane. Apparently he managed to do a complete 180 from the southbound lane.
That's in addition to the dozen-or-so trucks I've seen that were just stuck off road without flipping over. Looks like my decision to stop early instead of pressing on was a sound one.Barn Door Bill, MidWest_MacDaddy, Bumper and 4 others Thank this.
