Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

There's a lot of things I think, but my opinion is not often shared by the powers that be.

 

I will quote you what I was told by my dm once. “Your, or any other drivers, opinion does not matter.” True story. And yes, we were in the middle of a heated discussion at the time, but it was also said to another driver friend in the exact same way, and on the same day. So, take it and ruminate on it as you see fit. BTW, the person who said it has now been promoted. Not that he isn’t a decent person and he did do me pretty good, but in the end, it was a struggle daily.

 

This live load that I’m waiting on is heading towards the RVA area... if I touch the Yard, I’ll seek such clarification.

 

Oh, and today I discovered that when you show up for a LUL at the FexEx Mail place in Memphis, which was rescheduled from last night to this morning, and they can’t touch your Truck for two days, they really don’t want you to leave and drop it at the Yard for a Local to return with when they are there, and working... {Security... we have an issue} ...

I had a gut feeling that I should have just dropped it at the WM Yard and moved along... but instead I ended up started my clocks early today... lol

But I’ve been running pretty good lately... so I was due for an off day...

 

When "Marie" was working in safety back then she told me the very same thing.

 

Thats what I was told as I was being written up. I protested saying that I was told by the previous safety director that we could log out of the QC and drive bobtail. The reply was, yes that used to be allowed but not any more.

I guess its easier to write drivers up for violations than to inform them of the policy change.
