    And on the lighter side,

I had forgotten all the benefits of running vampire... almost no four wheelers... and since we seem to be governed a couple MPH faster than most, one can camp out in the left lane as you pass one after another... of course pulling to the left lane if someone faster catches up to you. No worries parking in the fuel lanes as most are parked... and plenty of parking after you shut down for the “night”.

I’m sure there are more... as well as cons too.
I think I might consider running in dark mode for a bit after Home Time... should that ever happen... lol ... of course subject to the needs of the freight that I’m assigned.

    Hey everyone!
I just want to let you all know that I'm changing my "Avatar" to a 1931 Peerless car. I will get a better photo later of it.

    MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

A sister to the one I was driving... except it has 250,000 more miles and smells like an ashtray... and the floor... ya, I won’t even touch it.

hopefully this one will keep running.

But I fear I’m just starting over.

Oh well... I’m sure it will clean up nice...

    Rugerfan Thanks this.

Here at Core Molding in Columbus. Interesting place. They make the aerodynamic caps and ground effects for KWs.

Been here before. Last time I got an hour of detention. This time I'm working on three hours and counting.

Rolled in for the listed 3:00pm live load appointment time, shipping clerk wanted to know if I was the 3:00pm pickup or the 8:30pm pickup. I told her my load assignment said "3:00pm". She said that there was another Abiliene driver who got there after I did who also claimed to have a 3:00pm appointment time.

Apparently neither of us have the 3:00pm appointment time, because we've both been sitting here since we got here five hours ago. He hasn't been loaded, I haven't been loaded. And ordinarily I wouldn't care, because as I have mentioned getting paid to play video games and surf the Internet is certainly my idea of a good time. But my DEF gauge is in the red because I foolishly thought that I would have plenty of time to fill it up after getting loaded here, and I'm not sure it's going to last the night. And I have 47 minutes left on my 14. And I'm not even in a dock yet.

I'm sorry.....because we work for the same company, that makes us best friends?? I didn't get that memo. This is the 3rd time an Abilene driver has parked beside me when the whole parking lot is empty, and tried to strike up convo. This particular driver today proceeded to hollar for me, because my curtains were open, and I'm in the bunk watching TV. I'm not your best friend. I don't want to hear your trucking story's. I don't work in the office, so no, I can not answer your questions regarding dispatch/loads/detention/etc...

So....recap, if we're swapping loads, it's good, talk to me. If not, then leave me alone.

Besides a brand new one, I've never seen an Abilene truck that didn't smell like an ashtray when I swapped. Not smoking, is very rare in this profession. Sorry you having bad luck. Hopefully, this one will keep you moving.
