    Soooooo....

    Up at 6am... bump the dock at 7ish
    Can’t PC as I have a Trailer on my back.
    QC goes off at 3pm... PU @ 6pm
    Start Rolling at 8:30... shut down at 2am

    So Today’s Stats...
    Hours: 20
    Miles: 264
    Money: $105.60

    Ya, so, as mentioned by others here before... after being under load for two whole days, and having a Scheduled Hard Drop at 7am... I guess it was a total surprise to the Planners that I might want to make some money today.

    {shrug}

    But we’re told incessantly that they’re the professionals and they know what they’re doing. Working out just great, isn't it?

    But, but, but, we are just truck drivers. We don’t know what goes on in the office and have no idea the lengths they have to go to in order to get loads for us to keep us rolling. {insert major eye rolls here}

    I am working it tonight, ladies and gentlemen!

    I have a Ryder high value delivery to Amazon here in Cranbury, NJ. Delivery time is 1:00am, several hours hence. Problem: My clock will be up by then and I won't be able to legally drive very far to make on-time delivery.

    So I rolled up to the gate six hours early and explained my situation, hoping they could point me at someplace within "don't set off the electronic babysitter" distance so I could creep over all sneaky-like and make delivery at 1:00am without setting off my drive clock. BUT! I also struck up a conversation with the folks at the guard shack about my time spent as an Amazon employee. Long-term readers of this thread may recall that it was Amazon who ponied up for my CDL classes, and indeed I learned the basic rudiments of truck driving in the parking lot of the Amazon facility in Richmond.

    And because I was able to make nice-nice with the folks at the gate, they went ahead and gave me a dock and started the unload early. So I will be able to roll out of here with time on the clock and park at a nearby truck stop for the night and won't have to worry about getting up at Stupid O'Clock to make a delivery.

    And there was much rejoicing.

    In other news, the Kenworth transmission is going to be the death of me. Mark my words.

    My Kenworth transmission when it was time to back into a dock would sometimes, skip and jump! I hated that!

    Yesterday I sent dispatch a message with all the details of a situation that needed to be resolved "Pronto" Quick...30 minutes later I get a message asking the same questions I have already answered!
    I let them know how upset I was because "They Don't Read" :mad:

    That is exactly what mine does, and I don't care for it.

    When I am backing into a dock, especially when it's a tight squeeze between two other trailers, I want to ease my way back in.

    "Ease" does not appear to be within the vocabulary of the KW transmission. They have erased that word and replaced it with "Lurch".

    I am not a fan of "Lurch".

    <insert Addams Family jokes here>
