Depends on how it's ordered. It can be anywhere from 50 gal to 300+ gallon. Dual 100's to dual 125's are common.

I think, and yes that’s hard for me, that the shop needs to implement a triage process, like the dealers do.

Have someone look at the truck to determine just how big of a process it’s going to be. Maybe hook their computer up to it to get what codes it’s throwing. (Like the Dealerships do) then they would be able to provide some amount of detail that “yup, it’s a big project, we will put you in line, head to the hotel and relax”... or “ya, it’s just a simple sensor, let’s run your truck through our fast in and out lane and get you rolling”

I know that’s overly simplistic and they may not know just how big or small a problem may be, but this waiting all day for them to even look at a Truck let alone start the project, ugh.

I would so rather be driving.
Yes, the whole company wants that too.

And so they were. 150 each tank, for 300 gallons total. Thanks.

I also called our shop and asked them the same question. (This was before I had read your post and learned that I could check myself, which I did later when I stopped for fuel.) Got an office flunky on the phone. Told 'em I wanted to know the max fuel capacity for my KW. Office flunky put me on hold while they went to find out.

Minute or so later, office flunky comes back and says "They don't know."

    Me: [IMG]

Office flunky: "They said to just go ahead and fill the tank until the pump shuts off automatically."

    Me: [IMG]

At which point I informed the office flunky that, contrary to the opinions the shop staff had about truck drivers, I was not actually an idiot. I needed to know the capacity of my fuel tanks because my fuel gauge wasn't working, and I wanted to have a rough idea how far I could drive on a full tank before I needed to fuel up. At which point she put me on hold again. A minute or so later, someone else picked up the phone and said it was 300 gallons. Confirming the values I would eventually read on the tanks themselves.

    So now I know.

You got sent the opposite direction from me. I'm heading into the heart of the POLAR VORTEX. Delivery tomorrow morning in the outskirts of St. Paul, MN.

I fueled up today in Rochelle, IN. It was -12F. I could feel the insides of my nostrils freezing over every time I took a deep breath.

The Blue Beacon was open, too. Felt sorry for those guys. That's gotta be a miserable job at -12F.

Ya, it’s rather nice once in a while to get away from the same old roads... I’ve had two nice around the country trips here... they were like a mini vacation... enjoy the new views!!!
