Good to hear you got real help.

I got it in my face once from pulling a nose hair. My face swelled up like i was allergic to bees and got stung. It ended up busting inside my upper lip. They were afraid it would travel into my sinus and get to my brain. I was scared as hell. Although it was funny since my Gf at the time had one on her butt the month before. So I was made fun of for a long time lol

Hmmm.... if she had it on her butt and then you got it on your face. That's enough to make a person wonder. ;)

Another quick update since it seems y'all actually seem to give a rat's backside about me, for which I am both touched and grateful.

Got out of the hospital this morning. Docs said that my bloodwork was very positive, and it seemed I was responding well to the vancomycin. Said when I came in, my white blood cell count was 17,000 (or maybe 70,000, he had an accent, so I wasn't sure), but this morning it was 6,000, which is the normal count of someone without an infection.

My calf is still red and tender, so I'm not going back out on the road just yet. Gonna give it at least another day to make sure it's clearing up. But it's definitely improved vs. yesterday.

Did you explain to the Dr with the accent that you and dispatch don’t have time for this?

You know them little charts they have on the walls of the doctor's office? The pain chart with the smiley and frowney faces? Where you're supposed to use a scale of 0-10 to tell 'em how much pain you're in?

I've only ever hit 10 on that chart once in my life, and it was the 3rd time I had MRSA. Left arm was swollen, red, and infected from wrist to shoulder. Nurses would come in and accidentally jostle my bed and it would cause severe pain. And if they actually hit my arm directly? I'd dang near pass out. I've had kidney stones. I've had gallstones. And that infected arm is still the worst pain I've ever had.

So I'll be happy to take as long as it needs to take. MRSA is something I ain't fooling around with.
