    So you'd chose Western Express?

Going to the top didn’t help. Now worried and scared my fiancé won’t make it now without being able to get her at least one of her meds everyday with the full advance. She was beating this cancer too on top of the other diseases she is dealing with. Not my fault my miles were low and I broke down a lot. Maybe Ill just empty out the truck next home time and hang it up for good. I have degrees in Applied Physics, Geophysics and Math, maybe it is time I get that civil engineering or oil and gas engineering job. Ive always like driving truck but things are getting worse and worse it seems. Seems like only the #### ups and “problem child” drivers get anywhere or anything. Not trying to be an ####### or anything though.

Well just found out fiance may not make it now they cut my advance and can’t send it to her to get her medicine everyday.....this sucks. I know it isn’t their problem but they could at least care enough to understand and help by restoring it to normal.May not even get to see her alive again, might not make it til my next off time in a few weeks because of this....

It’s good, no GREAT, to have options... and seems to be good options as well... unfortunately many Drivers out here don’t... :-(

If that is both where the money is, and it’s a safe bet those areas will pay better than Driving, and probably better benefits too... then ya, you have to do what’s best for you and your family... regardless if you like to drive or not.

You know driving truck won’t be changing anytime in the near future... and if getting married so she can get on the Abilene Health Insurance isn’t an option then ya, I would say the next step is to put those Degrees to work.

Said with Respect... tough choices ahead.

    Rocknroller4 Thanks this.

I can’t say one way or the other... my only feedback was the 61mph and micromanagement vs terminal in your town. And that’s only for me... I don’t know you and maybe you would thrive in a micromanaged environment... many do... and many actually require micromanagement to function and be productive... not saying it’s a lazy issue... just some people need it to function. I have a daughter that is not lazy and she is on a great career path, but she requires a highly structured environment... some would call that micromanagement.

My advice is to collect as much info on different companies as possible (which sounds like you have done your homework), select the best option (for you), get at least a YEAR of safe driving without accidents or incidents at that same first company, and over that year be talking to other Drivers, collecting information about your “next company”, and jump in with both feet...

If you “want” to drive, PULL THAT TRIGGER!!!
But it’s a Lifestyle, not a Job... be ready... GO!
