Seems like bad days are going around.
Got a load yesterday hauling stuff to Indy. Started getting "Pull over and turn the engine off or else" warnings. Computery bits say I'm low on coolant, but the reservoir is past the max fill line. Have to turn the truck off and let the engine think about what it's done for a bit before resuming my travels.
This happens four times.
After the fourth time, I call breakdown and, to make a long story somewhat shorter, the repair shop I visited told me the truck needs a new head gasket. As I was only 3 hours away from Richmond and as the truck is still under warranty, the shop directed me to drive back to Richmond so that they may deliver the truck to our local dealership for repairs.
"Fortunately" it looks like the infection in my leg has returned, which means I'll be out-of-commission for 2-3 days, so maybe I won't have to actually move into a new unit.MidWest_MacDaddy and Lonesome Thank this. -
A "new" new unit?

Hopefully I won't have to move. I hate moving and I like this truck. -
To an older truck and you like your truck. -
Ok... this day gets better...
My plans... pickup 3pm... stop for the night at 9pm... take a 10... bump a dock at 7am... go grab my PrePlan and drive to Byhalia ... simple right?
Reality:
Time frame to pick up this load is 8am to 3:30pm... I’m here around 3pm... not ready until 6pm... then 7pm... NOW it’s going to be 10pm... which, if rolling at 10pm, puts me Parking for the night at 3am... (been up since before 8am)... I guess they expect this “very nice driver” to bump yet another dock in his sleep... and go back to bed... before going to pick up his PrePlan...
The fact that I have a good PrePlan waiting for me is the only thing keeping me from just saying F it and return to the Yard and starting over at 8am tomorrow.
I told Dispatch “better call and see if I can take my ten on their yard... if I can’t, this load is F’ed.... as well as my PrePlan too.
I think it’s the Blonde... I have never waited around so much until she hoped on board... this whole “team driving” thing might be at risk if this is the mojo she brings to my Truck... lolLast edited: May 2, 2019

10pm and they still can’t get me loaded...
drove back to the Yard and calling it a night... no longer safe for this Driver to consider being on the roads for the next five hours and that’s IF they can even get me loaded... which they can’t... so no clue when I would be rolling.
What a wasted day... another wasted day...Lonesome and Silverdriver Thank this. -
Welp, as I suspected, I am back off the road for three days. Infection has returned, they want to monitor it and see how it reacts to the antibiotic they're giving me.
On the upside, I don't have to worry about moving into a new truck until Monday at the earliest... -
