Sitting in Phoenix doing a reset, under a load, for the third time in the three weeks since I left the house. This folks, is what I’ve called babysitting freight. Something that fry's my backside to no end. It’s strictly a planning issue. I voiced my displeasure this morning, and it was promptly handled perfectly. I unload tomorrow, then reload tomorrow for a delivery on Wednesday in Verona Va. As planned, I should be home as scheduled.

On a side note, I’ve averaged 3925 miles per week for those 3 weeks. My gripe is the six days sitting out here while doing these resets.

As for the weather, I hit snow coming out of southern Oregon into northern Nevada, got here last night and today I’ve enjoyed 75 degree weather.

But like all good things that must come to an end, it’s time to go home. I’ll be home four weeks to the day I left. About 9 days too long. Oh, and I’m breaking in a new DM.

I'm in the same boat. Just came back to work today after 8 days off in a row. First load they give me has about 38 extra hours on it. Pick up at Givens in Chesapeake, delivers in Alabama 9:30am Monday.

I swung back by the yard after getting loaded at Givens because I'd noticed that two of the hinges were broke on one of the trailer doors. Got those fixed, but instead of rolling out with this load, I'm gonna hit 'em up in the morning and see if I can drop it here and get something else that will keep me rolling over the weekend. Gatorade loop to Mountain Top or Indy or something.

Coming out of home time they send me a load assignment going to pickup a loaded trailer at Volvo in Byhalia, MS and drop it at Wytheville terminal. I see some Gatorade in my future!

This morning I was reading a news report that appeared on my cellphone. According to this first report a Swift driver was found dead in I-95 Virginia... They say it was suicide; about 4 years ago I new a young driver in his 20 that did the same thing leaving behind a wife with 4 kids. It is very said to see this happening.

My plan has worked. Instead of sitting on a load for 38 hours, I have been reassigned a load to Utah that delivers on Tuesday that will let me put some miles under this tub.

I didn't even have to yell or scream or get irate. Just dropped by the window, explained the situation. "Want a load with miles on it?" "Like you wouldn't believe."

Was nice having a few days off being able to see my fiancé. Left Tuesday to get loaded at amtrak in Seattle to drop in Colton but enroute got an extra stop added in to pickup in Goleta Cal then drop at Colton. Was nice view of the Ocean most of the day yesterday driving down US 101 on the coast, never been over that way in all my 6 years of experience out here. Dropped in Colton early last night and got a bh that delivers 5 am tomorrow in Orange. They really needed it delivered and they would back it up with a better load with more miles after. I hope so, I don’t mind helping out if needed but I hope they make good on that promise.
