They have lots of packaged meats for sale too... but my truck freezer is just too small.

I hit a TON of traffic on I-10 around and through Baton Rouge... it totally killed my Clocks and pushed me out of the “First Come First Served” window at the drop customer ... so I’ll probably have to sit on this load until Wednesday morning instead of dropping early.

Oh well, I’m bumping my 70 tomorrow and will start on a couple short days of recap so I won’t be going far nor too fast the rest of the week.

But ya, still better than running in Cali.

The boudin balls are known as...boudin balls. :D

The link stuff is actual boudin.

There's a place near my brother's house that sells smoked boudin, and it is the most amazing stuff ever. Sadly, there's no place truck friendly nearby to park.

Fortunately, I can just call up my brother when I pass through that area (which isn't often).

There’s a truck stop called Peto’s on I-10 at xit 59 that sells fresh and frozen meats. I’ve had boudin balls from their deli counter and bought boudin and alligator sausage from there. Then there’s Don’s Specialty Meats on I-10 at xit 97. No truck parking per se, but there’s a spot between it and the Harley dealer that you can park if there’s only one or two trucks in. Most times a lot of trucks just park on the side of the road.

When I realized that my truck would be in the shop for an extended period, I asked HQ for a loaner so I wouldn't have to move. Just wanted some way to make money while my truck was being repaired.

And since I am not moving out of my truck, I just want to travel light, right? Bare necessities only. Just enough clothes to last me a week or so, toiletries, etc.

"Should I bring my coat?" I asked myself as I was deciding what to bring.

"Nah," I replied. "It is 85F here in Richmond, and June is less than two weeks away. I don't need a coat."

After this LUL in East Central Illinois, I’m heading to visit my now 82 year old mother and celebrating my sisters birthday on Sunday.

    Have a Great Weekend!!!
