Today I made my delivery in Miami. I miss Florida!
The Beach, Key West, flea markets, Pear 90, Daytona and my favorite St. Agustin. :crybaby:
I did get the chance to eat a good Cuban steack sandwich! IMG_20190624_105023.jpg IMG_20190624_105131.jpg

Finishing up my 34-hour reset with an overnight trip to Florida. Starting my drive at 10pm, soon as my 34 is over. Delivering at least an hour late at 9am. Apparently I am the only option to get it there somewhat close to the actual delivery time.

Today was supposed to be shower day, but the place I'm parked doesn't have a shower and the closest place that does is nearly an hour away. Don't think I'll have time to grab one on the way.

Have been reminded of reset-clock management techniques. Need to time things better next go around so that my reset ends at like 5am or so.

Ya, so I guess no one knew that 5 Abilene trucks of coolers were going to show up today... no real dock, can’t go in the front door, so this is the area they must first remove the concrete from and hope to use... I guess they will roll the coolers to the doors, then use a forklift to pull out and lower the 24” from truck to concrete pad... ya, what could possibly go wrong... lol

Oh, and OMFG... I just saw the inside of the newer Volvo 760 (?)... THEY ARE SO FREAKING SMALL INSIDE!!!!

Seriously, how do Drivers stay 2,3,4 weeks out at a time in those {deleted expletive} things... I’d expect to be home every 2-3 days in one of those!!!

I now pray to all that is worthy that they never give me a “new” truck... I’ll take a hand-me-down from a Team any day... :-(

Meanwhile, at the other end of the same location:

They've piled up all these coolers outside because, while they were able to eventually get them past the outer door, they're too big for any of the inner doors. The contractors can't get the coolers into the main floor area to install them.

I have been assured that they will clear a path for me Real Soon Now.

When they gave me my latest truck, they asked me if I wanted a Volvo.

I said "I'd rather have an old Volvo than a new Kenworth. But I'd rather have a new Kenworth than a new Volvo."

Thus, I am driving a new Kenworth.

Give me specialized refrigeration contractors any day over general contractors when it comes to offloading Hill-Phoenix loads. The reefer guys know what they're doing, while the general guys often don't.
