Somebody said at the yard the other day, they heard abilene wanted to add 500 trucks to West Memphis next year.

Not sure if anybody else notices it,but I see the freight pattern change, what use to be alot more longer freight for solo drivers isn't there, maybe it's my truck.

Here soon we'll be cut back, and have to follow route, and fuel soultions *just speculating*,but I think in the future this once great company will turn into a turnover mill, hope not.

    500 Trucks in WM
    ... mighty lofty goal

Maybe move a bunch of Swift Drivers into Green Trucks??? We certainly can’t train that many... as we just lost our best trainer... ;-)

    The trucking industry has change.
It is now become what I call “The Monopoly Game” There are many big players in the game but whoever controls the board from the 4 corners will win the game!

    Interpretation...
If a company owner can purchase other trucking companies... he has a better chance of controlling “The Freight Game” from the 4 angles of the United States. It’s all about business strategies and making more money!

It is sad! Because at the end of all this; it is the CDL driver who will pay the price!

Ya, it can get interesting... good reason to get onsite before your ten to scope it out and with fewer distractions... and while a bit more than half awake... ugh

    Stupid O’Clock... lol

So, when do you take your 34?
Is there any rhyme or reason?

While I don’t mind running recap until hours come around, the last two times I took a 34 seemed to have not been the best timing or didn’t really get the benefit which then was just wasted down time.

So... I’m curious as to how/when the group tends to use a 34... just hit m miss as needed when needed... take a 34 every weekend so you are always starting out the week rested and with full clocks?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Right now I have 11 for Monday but then recaps of 4, 11, 8, 9 kick in...

I’ve always been one that would run my clock out then reset. I’ve been real good at running 3800-4200 on my first week out of the house, reset, do it again then go home. This particular load I’m on is 4100 miles, unfortunately I’ll be resetting before finishing the last drop. In any event, with my reset, I finish this load one week after leaving Richmond. I’ve found running my clock out in 6 days, I’ll need a reset. I do work hard at figuring where I’ll be taking it. This particular one will be in Medford Oregon.

Ya but... most of us don’t burn through 70 in 6 days... lol ... just when was the last time you even saw a recap hour coming on your clock?

    :biggrin_2559:

Thanks... I only have 4 hours coming back tonight so maybe I’ll request a 34... and just hope I’m someplace decent to take a 34 and not sitting in some nasty truckstop for a day and a half doing nothing but sitting in the driver’s seat or laying in the bunk.
