In the future, just stop at the Loves first with a “lack of power” complaint... ;-)

    Which was my predicament.

Started today at 8am facing an 800+ mile HP load... just now loaded at 6pm at Givens in Norfort... with just a tad over 100 miles in my bank.

Oh ya, Givens is another one of those address to the docks is not the address we need.

So ya, gotta take one for the team today.

Well, a lot of them are like my previous comment, so........probably not.

Hahaha! Yeah, the Norfolk address is very misleading.

Near Yakima, I usually park at the gearjammer. Sometimes I park at one of two smaller places in toppenish, yakamart or wolf den, both off US97.

I imagine that being so near Alaska that you get some really below temperatures and snow storm during winter months?

Maybe I'm going plain (In Spanish) "Loco" / Crazy. But I thought someone had made a plan and even made a map on how the Richmond terminal trailers where going to be drop in certain areas... including emptys.

No. You’re not crazy. Louis (who was a OTR, then local, then yard jockey over the course of 17 yrs with Abilene) had done that. And if you tried to drop in a different spot, he’d ask you to put it in the right place. But, they informed him not long after he came up with and implemented that plan that his services were no longer needed. Go figure.

Yeah, it can get bad. This past winter I got stuck on hometime an extra three days once.

A previous carrier I worked for had a very simple system and it worked well.. drivers were provided note cards from day 1, if you dropped an empty you wrote MTY on one side of the card and stuck the other side under the spring loaded 7 way lid on the trailer. We also did this with loaded trailers, writing destination and PRO # for added verification. Of course there was some accountability too, if someone dropped a trailer without a card they were hunted down and reprimanded accordingly
