Probably not. They do it out of a courtesy. And I agree, the people at the fuel desk and cash register barely want to do the job at hand, not going to see if a driver is DOA.

Good.
If God forbid I ever have to sleep at a truck stop in the same parking lot as the likes of the Sullivan’s poop man, I sure as hell don’t want to be bothered by some desk clerk.Lonesome, jarhead0311 and JohnBoy Thank this. -
Really starting to dig these new volvos, sure I gave up space, but these thing's turn on a dime.
It took me a 1 1/2 days to figure out these seats, and yes I share the same highways.
MidWest_MacDaddy, jarhead0311, Silverdriver and 1 other person Thank this. -
In other words to you.. grow up & get a life. Wow.

That’s the interesting thing about 911... how does one call the “local 911” for the area that the driver is in? A 911 call is sent to the local 911 call center... of the caller.
911: “hello, 911... what is your emergency?”
Me: “hi, please transfer me to the call center that covers Springfield... thanks”
And then it may or may not be an emergency... are we to call 911 to wake up a driver?
If anyone is ever asked to do a safety check on me... please come check into it... if it turns out to not be an emergency, I will then gladly buy you a steak dinner just because you went out of your way to just make sure I’m ok.
But, if a driver causes too many issues like not answering his phone or giving status updates via QC, causing unnecessary safety checks... dude has to go!!!gntorres61 and dwells40 Thank this. -
Well, that gives me hope... a little...

Sorry I confused you, call local ems

911 calls made from your cell phone will go to whatever 911 office happens to be local to the cell tower your cell phone is connected to at the time. I have made numerous 911 calls while driving to report significant road hazards such as trees falling across a lane on the freeway, and those calls have always gone to the county or the city I happened to be driving through.
FYI -
Maybe they thunk you worked for K&B. I hear that's quite popular over there, calling law enforcement to do a "welfare check" on a driver.
gntorres61 and Silverdriver Thank this. -
This was a horrible day.....start my day 245 am to get to HEB construction for 7am to find out there were ten of us told to show 7am.....finally get unloaded with my 14 counting down but had enough time to get to next pick up. Well somehow springs holding my airlines and pigtail broke and dropped them onto my cat walk and against my tandem tires and needed those all replaced.....2020 volvo....hope I don't get fired over it....they were fine this morning when I did pti and fine leaving consignee. Fortunately was right by a Love's.
Silverdriver and Lonesome Thank this.
