Air is getting into it which is making it work overtime thus sending cold air into it. If I don’t close my freezer correctly, I eventually will get ice buildup. Then it's ice chipping time. I’m thinking the shops Mickey Mouse system isn’t working correctly.

My wife and I took our guys out for a walk. I took pictures of the different hurricane protection shutters. One thing I didn’t mention, if a named storm is in what we call the cone or box, and you don’t have your shutters up, then the insurance company won’t pay if you have damage. Me, whenever my shutters go up, I take pictures that are time/date stamped.

The first picture is the house directly across the street from me, all hurricane glass. The second one is mine with panels. The third one is to the right of the first one with accordion shutters. The fourth one had this new mesh installed, not proven enough for me. The fifth one is one of 4 homes out of 105 in our development that said screw it, I’ll take my chance. They have nothing for protection.

The Mesh that U pointed out on #5056, that appears to be used in place of a typical Insect Screen?

Yes. It’s dual purpose. I’m not totally sold on it though. I saw a 2x4 shot at 150mph into the side of a concrete block foundation like our homes have, it went right through it. I can’t imagine mesh would stop flying objects.

dwells40 and 4mer trucker Thank this.

That Mesh must have Kevlar in it

Well, I’m fairly certain air is getting in as there is no door... lol ... and the replacement door was just a glorified piece of plastic that broke within a month... so I guess I’ll just let it freeze over and let them deal with a wet carpet... lol

But with my luck, I’ll be the one dealing with the wet carpet ... LOL

Bump but did you get this fixed? Make sure the GFCI isn’t tripped on that outlet you pictured, it will kill the cab electrical outlets if it is

    Thanks.
For some strange reason it wasn't the GFSI ... I kept looking and push the reset button on the inverter built-in outlet and it works now.
It doesn't make any sense to me but I'm guessing that the people who built or put together this Volvo got there wiring mixed.
Unless that's the way it's supposed to work but! (?).

Spoke to my family yesterday in Florida.
My Mom is 80 years old living with my sister and nephew.
This is there first time having to deal with a hurricane and I been giving them some advice and letting them know that there is a lot of people praying for everyone in Florida.

Our thoughts and prayer go out to them... ones first hurricane can be a bit overwhelming.

    Where in Florida are they?

I think it was recently downgraded to a Cat 2... so for most in Florida, that’s just a good rain shower... ;-)
