Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

Coming out of home time today. I'm going to pick up a load going from Cleburne, Tx to Denver, Colorado. I heard Montana got hit with a really bad snow storm a few days ago.

 

Long frustrating day going up US 395 between hitting every red light, the 25 mph zones, steep and twisty mountains, construction in the steep and twisty mountains down to one lane both ways in sections stopped waiting on pilot car, the knucklehead step deck that had the road blocked near lake topaz at the lodge because he got stuck and bottomed out getting out of the steep lot which he had no business being in anyway and finally the traffic jam when I hit Reno....My 70 hit 0 right at the guard shack at petfood place. Ran my 11,14 and 70 out all at same time today but it worked out for me dropping in Redland and hooking another load out up to NV again. Doing a reset in fernley....

 

I remember running that 395 empty after a snow storm a couple winters ago,wanna talk about nerve racking .

 

Same ole same ole,unloaded at bh,but guess what,I've gotta sit around because the company can't plan ahead,meanwhile the clocks ticking away.

 

Yeah I knew better,coming down to fl,with a early morning appt that I had to drive to get here,I shouldn't be complaining.

 

I can only imagine that one with all the mountains and what not. I ended up running down 95 to 15 with these pet food loads since 395 was always shutdown this past winter when I was up here.

 

That is my biggest complaint here, I prefer to be stacked/preplanned as to not waste time.

 

Hit my one year anniversary with Abilene this weekend. Unless something majorly changes that rubs me wrong I plan on this being my last trucking company to work for til Im ready to move into an engineering job with my degrees.

 

Getting loaded up here in Gainesville,Ga its another late night chicken flight.
