I hate when ppl drive tired or half asleep.....got stuck behind a jeep going down the middle of two lanes down 95 330 this morning.....

Dropped in the yard since San J's line went down and won't be fixed til Monday. Looks like a local gets to take it Monday, lol! Down for a reset since only an hour left on my 70.

I created work for a local yesterday too...
I had to pick up a load from HPx... told me to “grab an empty and take it over there”... which I would normally do without issue... but, “so give me a small list of empties on the yard”... “oh, can’t do that today... they aren’t entered yet” (or something like that)
so, either there is some kind of stack of papers from the local drivers from when they brought them to the yard that identifies the empties on the yard sitting on some desk... or there is no stack of paper on some desk but we still have no clue what trailers are empty... either way I’m not, yet again, looking through another 15-20 trailers, manually searching for the empties, that may or may not be there, that have come onto the yard just because we have an ineffective and inefficient process or can’t do the required data entry in a timely fashion so that we even know if we even have empties on the yard.
meanwhile, OTR driver wasting his or her #### time searching for something that may or may not even be there... I say, if this process is ok then the company can have someone that is paid by the hour, and not the mile, to organize a search party and to move trailers around.Silverdriver, jarhead0311, JohnBoy and 2 others Thank this. -
Yeah, makes more sense for a local or yard driver to find empties and arrange them somewhere. They oughta create a row for empties and put signs on either end of said row.Silverdriver Thanks this.

I wish I was allowed to change my fuel filters myself....

I see we are no longer Inc. and are LLC now, body shop guy came by and scraped the Inc off my doors and other trucks.
-
They started doing that a few months ago. The Abilene corporation is no more. We’re now under the mothership umbrella of LLC’s.Silverdriver and jarhead0311 Thank this.

Either Cipriano or a local driver does a yard check in the mornings. They have a list, most of them are just too lazy to get out of their chair and go find it. Best thing to do is to check with Cip at the dock. Most of the time he can tell you if there are mtys. Remember, we had a guy doing just what you are suggesting and they told him his services were no longer needed. So.................can’t put it on the locals-who just had our bonuses taken away from us because there is supposedly very little freight. Y’all might not care about that because, hey we’re “just” local and shuttle drivers, but I bet you will when they take away y’all’s 10k/month/yearly and safety bonuses.Lonesome, jarhead0311 and JohnBoy Thank this.

Please forgive my ignorance... But what does LLC's stand for? As a company driver what are we looking at?
