I know I’m just another tush in the seat holding a steering wheel, but if or when that happens, I’ll retire a little earlier, immediately.

The short version? If I go out and run over a church bus full of parishioners, the companies liability is limited based on the LLC.

    Thanks JB.
It's incredible how one change can save a company millions of dollars! Now I understand that if they get into trouble they will still have to compensate for the damages done but just limited!
    Interesting!

@RebelChick ... please don’t get defensive... I’m not putting anything “on the locals” ... I said they can have someone who is paid other than CPM to manually search for these things... if that’s a local, ok... so be it... at least they are getting paid for their time.

and the “yard check” is also part of what blows my mind... why doesn’t the system JUST KNOW if a trailer is empty or has a load? They know what load is where, where it’s going, in what trailer, what truck is pulling it... and what driver is moving it...

Why can’t they just do a quick “list/lookup” WITHIN THE #### SYSTEM... and pull up “empty trailers at X” and say “here are three”???

No need to do a yard check, well, for this anyway. The only thing missing is where the trailer is physically since the trailers Don’t have GPS in them... so if a trailer is moved from local customer to yard, the system doesn’t know that until the piece of paper is entered. (so enter the #### data) it takes less time to update the system than manually opening doors to find one.

And if there were 15 trailers moved to the yard yesterday and only 5 left the yard... there should still be 10 from the day before in the system as both empty and on the yard.

    I must me missing something...
I just think our tech should tell us.

Heck, if the tech worked and data was entered timely, I could envision a Driver Macro... “provide list of empties at CUSTID”... poof, here you go!!!

Because Abilene is owned by Knight the LLC is formed to separate Abilene's assets from Knight's, Swift's and any other companies they own. If Johnboy runs over the church bus the lawyers for the church can only attack Abilene's assets. They could still put Abilene out of business but they couldn't get anything from the other two companies. Knight and Swift could continue normal operations.

It’s all good. No worries. We all know the system is broke and won’t be fixed. We just work with what we have. But, yeah, they need to keep better track of the trls. It sure would help a lot. Especially on the weekends when we have so few. I bet they have trls in places that they have no clue. And sometimes they send us to places where the system shows X amount and there are none. Possibly because the trls don’t have trackers in them-which, IMO, is just stupid because they ain’t cheap!

    Sorry every one!
I wrote something; and decided to deleted.
I'm just so tired of Richmond putting drivers through the same thing over and over again!
