So much for not deadheading trucks. Got empty in Salem Oregon today and got my reload assignment immediately. Dead head to San Bernardino (967 miles) to drop and hook for another HP load going to Portland Oregon for Tuesday.

I’m not the only one. I was told there’s 10 of us being deadheaded from all parts of the country to pick up in San Bernardino.

This is the worst Ive seen I80 yet whole time Ive been driving....shutdown west bound from Cheyenne to Rawlins due to winter weather and dangerous winds.....had a hard time with this 7700 lb HP load. Supposed to be in Sumner WA 7 am Wed. then home time for 5 days. Hope roads open up tonight....had to back track to Sidney Nebraska since all parking was full in Wyoming. Be nice if the port of entry let us park overnight but nope....

80 in WY was a fun ride this morning....slow going cheyenne to rawlins. 10-15 mph down the hill into Laramie, that was section was bad and from Laramie to Rawlins was just glazed over in a lot of places. 7700 pound load sucks on packed snow and ice, lol! ...I often wonder why they wait so long to get plows going but then again it is only October.....I hate whatever they throw on the road, sure makes me use up my washer fluid fast....

Well you are talking Wyoming, they don’t use salt. They use some kind of sand mixed with something.
But it’s often to cold there for salt to be effective.

Yeah....I forgot salt is ineffective at low enough temps so alternatives gotta be used.
