Well, figured out the light issue is due to the 7pin socket on the trailer needing cleaned or replaced. I have no lights going down the road but when stopped and wiggle the pigtail half come on or all come on then go out so, yup the socket. Waiting for road service, Im not driving without lights on my trailer.

Recently I had an issue with none of the lights on the top of a trailer not working... wiggled the pigtail etc... nothing... turned out to be a fuze on the truck that runs the top lights... easy fix for someone with a bit of knowledge...

Just to clarify... the person with a bit of knowledge was a Loves Mechanic...

    not me... lol

Let me give you a little trick that will save you a ton of time on older trailers, the pigtail doesn’t make a good connection with the prongs, take a thin piece of cardboard (like from a cereal box) put that under your pigtail as you push it into the connector on the trailer. Doing this will usually correct the lighting issue.

You can also use a knife and spread those pins open a bit, if it’s an older trailer. And clean them with a rag so you can get down the road. The cardboard under the pigtail trick also works in a pinch.

Yeah, I thought fuse first thing but all the lights were working on last trailer I had so I played with the pigtail a bit and that when I figured it was the 7 pin socket on the trailer. But Yeah, Fuses are usually first thing to check if only half the lights working.

I've even done that with a small piece of wood, anything to put pressure on the connector.

I've noticed on a couple of the volvos I've driven, the black end piece of the pigtail needs to be changed.

So if you have issues in the future,I'd look there.

Sitting in Ft.Pierce, fl taking a reset, really didn't need one,but abilene gave me a week to get down here, you know how that goes on the weekend lol.
