Commiefornia charges .10 if you want a bag now, I thought the girl behind the counter was joking this morning when she asked if I wanted a bag for .10 but she wasn't, lol!

After 3 years with Abilene this is the first time I get to spend a thanksgiving with the family. I made plans for this since now I get two weeks vacation.
I want to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving! That you may enjoy your families as they come together to celebrate. :)

Thank you Javier. You as well. This will most likely be my first Thanksgiving I’ll be home without the big truck. Rental car waiting in Richmond for me on Monday.

Spent a lovely weekend in Barstow, and hit the road this morning with a fresh 70 to deliver here in Los Angeles proper. I am not strictly in downtown LA, but I'm only a mile or two away. Parked on the wrong side of the street, awaiting contractors to come unload these deli coolers off my truck.

Original delivery time was 8:00am local, but when I called the contractor on Friday and told him I was planning on being on site at 5:30am local just to avoid the fabled LA traffic, he asked if I could show up even earlier at 5:00am.

Got here at 4:30, currently awaiting further instructions.

My Qualcomm still isn't talking to the truck GPS, so HQ still has no idea where I'm at. They show me still on the yard. This has led to several "humorous" conversations (well I think they're funny, even if HQ doesn't) regarding my whereabouts. HQ called me on Saturday and wanted to know where I was. I told 'em I was still on the yard, since I know that's where their monitor shows my location.

There was a pause on the other end of the phone.

Then I told 'em I was just kidding and I was taking a 34 in Barstow and would be delivering early on Monday.

Nothing beats a good laugh in trucking, especially first thing on a Monday morning.

Sweet! I believe there are a crap ton more to be delivered today and tomorrow. I saw all of those loads last week over at the DC and thought, “Glad it’s not me in that mix!” I even google mapped it and seconded that opinion! Plus all the fun the planner is going to have getting 12 of y’all out of there! Man, I miss being OTR! (I’m being totally serious!)

    MidWest_MacDaddy and jarhead0311 Thank this.
