They actually did send me to a food place, lol! But the kitty litter and airing the trailer out over night must have worked since they loaded my trailer.

Lumber liquidators to MI. At least this store was easy to get to with a wide truck route behind all the stores in this plaza. And thankfully I beat all the black friday shoppers, lol! Routing me west since Im due in Yakima the 5 for hometime. Guessing either a brokered load next headed west or maybe they have a Fife load at BH in Groveport. We will see how they do this soon....

Guess they either forgot they were getting a truck or somehow didn't know. Been here three hours and still not empty yet because they only got one person in the store....it is black friday, you would think they would have more than one person running the store.....midwest planner called me and he watching a brokered load that is going to walla walla WA but I only got 30 hours on my 70 so he might see if they can reschedule the load if no penalties so I can get it there or just do a reset and see if can find a load on Sunday after a reset. Im thinking they prob should have reset me on Thanksgiving and found something going west I could get Sat. It will work somehow.....14 is a counting down now since they only had one person working today....

Brokered load from Croswell MI to Spokane WA. Amazon. Taking a 34 and then headed out. Abilene always comes through when it comes to hometime, at least they always seem to try their best anyway. Prob light too Im guessing since Ive never had a heavy Amazon load, lol!

    Finfn1372 and JohnBoy Thank this.

A nice relaxing five hour drive to Groveport today to move a Reefer unit... at 5h20m I’ll be bumping my 70... stopped in at Tamarack for an awesome salmon dinner... and a bit of shopping on this Black Friday... not much here other than the regular stuff but I don’t get to many places to shop before Christmas.

If anyone here is into Maxpedition Bags, they have some kind of BOGO sale this weekend... I don’t have any, mainly due to their costs, but at half price, a couple caught my eye.

Was assigned a load on Monday to haul an Amazon load from San Pedro, CA to Monroe, OH. Load picked up 1:00pm LA time and delivered Thursday at 8:00am. Figure it'll take an hour to get in and out of the shipper, I leave at 2:00pm LA time, that's a total of 63 hours from shipper to receiver.

I'm pretty sure it's not possible for a solo trucker to make that run legally in 63 hours. By my calculations, best case scenario, where I take a 10 at the shipper and can pull out of their dock with a fresh 11, it'll take 66 hours to make that trip.

And it wasn't the best case scenario, because I'd already started my driving day. Based on the hours I expected to have available when I left the shipper, I was going to be at least 13 hours late. And that's if I drove b*lls to the wall for four days with absolutely minimal downtime.

So I called the broker and appraised them of the situation. And I sent in a QC message appraising them of the situation. And then my DM called me and we discussed the situation. That was on Monday well before my appointment at the shipper.

On Tuesday, I made another round of phone calls, because I hadn't heard back on the first set.

On Wednesday I just sent a QC message: "Today is the last day you can swap me out with a team to get this to the reciever on time."

Finally got a response to that. "Keep rolling, you're fine." An hour or so later, I got an updated load assignment. Delivery time had been changed to 3:00pm Friday instead of 8:00am Thursday.

So I roll in to the Amazon facility at 2:15pm. And they tell me my appointment time was at 9:00am and they ain't gonna take me until we reschedule.

Dispatch shows a 3:00pm appointment time. Broker shows a 3:00pm appointment time. Amazon is the only one who shows a 9:00am appointment time.

So now I sit in trucker limbo until they figure it out.

Strange... now, out of the blue, all audio in my truck is coming out of the speakers in the upper bunk and only the upper bunk speakers.
