Been having issues with controlling my heat in this truck... was told at RVA that it was a known “software” issue on the 19xxx models and can’t be fixed with a part... (I had a hard time connecting the dots that they were explaining but I’m no mechanic) and the software fix from Volvo would be out the beginning of December... last week the truck began threatening it will “Derate in 60 minutes”... Loves looked at it and said a Dealership needs to look at it... so while I was there I wanted to make the most of my downtime so I explained the climate control issue, explained what RVA had told me, and asked if the software was released yet...

He looked at me like I had suddenly grown a second head and said “that doesn’t make any sense”... he checked for any software issues and that issue specifically but nothing...

So either the secret patch isn’t out yet, or I was fed a line by RVA that didn’t make any sense to the Dealership guys just to get the truck back on the road.

mostly an inconvenience but I imagine the day I hit a very cold day and then discover I have no heat... lol ... ya, that will be a mumbling under ones breath moment.

but I will certainly be staying on the Shops as we wait for the software patch to drop... LOL

They are waiting on the software update from Volvo, as per our Volvo mechanic in our shop, (Steve) and John.

    When it rains, it pours.

Called Truck Enterprises this morning to check on the disposition of my truck.

"Well we called you yesterday to let you know it was fixed."

Lady, you may have called somebody but it wasn't me. My phone ain't rang except for when my daughter called.

"But yes, it's fixed and we're taking it back to Abilene here in a few minutes."

Groovy. So I got my crap together and headed out the door.

    Car won't start.

Yesterday I went through one of those days that we all happen to experience some time or another. I went to pickup a load and there was no load. Today I get a new load assignment... I pick up in Commerce, CA.
When I arrived at the shipper; there where many police officer in the area it turns out to be that one of the employee at the company for some reason got fired and had made a Threat of coming back to kill everyone.

Come off hometime and get a load picking up in Yakima going to Compton CA. Cool, got more miles before Sat. Except I get a call from DM saying they are swapping me with a team that tried rescuing an HP load due to orher team's new truck needing towed and the place locked the gate so the load couldn't be rescued til Monday and the appt was yesterday and so they decide to dump the load on me hoping I can office depot will take me but nope, wouldn't take me and said needed to be rescheduled and it was for Monday the 16....DM told me to try again tomorrow.... Im putting in for layover on this if Im stuck sitting on it 4 days after I just came off home time....parked at the pilot near Olympia on an end spot since that was what was available. I slid my tandems forward and parked back a couple feet in case some idiot decided to cut the corner and left my lights on. Sure enough some foreign knucklehead in a pick up and auto trailer really cut the corner driving like a car and crunched the right side of my hood and bent the deer guard.....my 2020 volvo looks like I can't drive now....so angry.....gave his alien registration instead of his truck one and I didn't catch it. Guess he misunderstood the officer. Got pics of his license and insurance and DOT info though. Sure Abilene will figure it out. Sorry if I offended anyone here that is immigrant, not racist just hate how a lot come here and cut corners when it comes to trucking. Sorry for ranting.....still worried Ill get let go or fired somehow....

Sorry about your mishap. Call into the body shop and get george on the phone. I’m pretty sure they’ll be replacing the hood. Send him the pictures. He’ll have the new hood ordered and waiting for you.
