Gotta love the claims ppl we gotta call. Called yesterday after I got all the other guy's info and the person I talked to took all the info he asked for and then said I would get a message on the qualcomm with the claim number being apparently they had access to that. Nothing came and today I get a message saying I need to call claims and Tim called me telling me the same because they had no record that I did call. I called back and the woman I got this time did everything over and gave me the claim number and where to send pics to other than our safety ppl. She apologized and said they don't have access to our qualcomm system and said this isn't the first time an Abilene driver called and had this happen where somebody apparently went through the motions and didn't write up a claim.

Last time I checked, hitting a stationary object is the hitters fault, not the hittee’s.

True, I wasn't sure how things are recorded accident wise and thought it still goes on my record.

It doesn’t go on your PSP or DAC or whatever, unless a ticket is issued. The only thing is that Abilene keeps an internal record and when you leave, they send that info to the new company, with no details, so you have to explain what happened. I have firsthand experience with this. When I was thinking of leaving, before my mother started having health issues, I had to explain 2 incidents. First one, was when a driver backed into me at a t/s. Like you, I was asleep.

Second one was, IMO, kind of petty, when I hit a pile of what I thought was snow (but was really ice) piled up after a big snow while backing into a spot at the J in Carlisle. I say petty because the only damage was a tear in the front bottom corner of the tractor of about an inch-yes, an inch. I reported it to safety but probably shouldn’t have.

The second incident, I didn’t think anything about until I was asked about it by the prospective company. That’s how I know ANYTHING that you do, no matter how small, is kept in your file and can and will be used against you when/if you leave. Also know if a driver who left and they outright made him look like a lunatic behind the wheel and the company he went to actually showed him (and yes, I have seen it) where they had handwritten incidents, signed by Tim. Even had that he had been in a head on collision when he was the one that was rear ended.

A thing I have discovered just now: If you have one of the new trucks that doesn't have a switch to dump the airbags, you can dump the airbags by setting the parking brake.

    Well now is my turn.
I was driving on I-20 East in Monahan's, TX between 6:45 - 7: 00 AM when a young man in his 20 felt asleep driving his pickup and ran into the back of my trailer. It shook even the truck really hard and did damage to the trailer... His pickup had the hole front crush. He confess to the state trooper that he felt asleep. No one was hurt.

Glad everyone is ok. Could have been much worse-especially for that young man.
