    If you are going to Washington you have to carry 7 chains (3 sets plus 1) on the truck and they do randomly check

    I just checked Meachum and cabbage, no current chain law in affect. Hammer down.

    Where'd you look? Been watching Oregon's TripCheck website and the stretch between Meachum and La Grande is requiring chains.

    On a related note while I was nosing through the Oregon chain requirements I noticed my two bags don't meet the minimum carry requirement. Even if I wanted to attempt to hang chains and go slow I wouldn't have enough without going through the pain for getting an EFS check issued. So that's good to know. :confused:[/QUOTE]
    Im headed that way myself for hometime. Just left Groveport headed to Fife. Yeah, Id chain if were me but since don't have enough you def. gotta sit. Make sure you get couple more bags in case they do a random check. Ill chain if I have to except when Im light. This BH load weighs little over 40k so Im glad I got weight this time. Usually get light loads out to Fife. Id never get home or get stuck home if I didn't chain. It is usually ladd canyon, meacham and cabbage you gotta worry about in winter going that way chain wise and snoqualmie in WA.

    they scheduled THREE of us here all at the same darn time... and with only one guy and a manual pallet jack to unload us...

    but at least no chains required... {whew}
