When our daughter got married, we too cried, my wife because she was sad, me because the financial burden was leaving, that lasted 3 months, 8 years later, I still have the financial burden. Lol

I just found out that the new safety guy is "Don Jones". He was my first DM here in Abilene.
"Wally" who I don't know...(I hope I spelled his name correctly) is doing orientation now.

Wally was hired a few years ago as the NE planner. Turned out to be a very good planner, especially keeping the trucks up and running efficiently up there. He was asked to become the trainers DM after Chad was asked to vacate the position. Now Wally is doing orientation, and Don, who has been with the company many years, is doing safety. Trucking is great, you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Ya, we can’t possibly have that... let’s move him to orientation... ya, ya, that will work best.

I remember him as the NE Planner and his TO always stood out to me... often he would send a “thanks for taking this load” type comment ... which I always thought was a nice personal touch and made me much more willing to run any TO he sent to my Truck.

I finally met him just a couple weeks ago when I was on the RVA Yard.

He was the best DM I had here. Very personably and very hands on.

    Yep!
    Very true JB!
Well today after going through two snow storms bringing a load from Oregon to West Memphis terminal I asked the young fellow here that does the truck's and trailers washing if he could do my truck and he said "NO! It's to cold'.
I just couldn't help myself and started laughing! But is true! Temperature is very cold? it's just crazy to wash a truck or trailer in the open.

Has anyone else heard that we don’t have the Ellenwood drop yard anymore? I heard about this over the weekend.

I dropped a loaded trailer there and left with an empty this past Friday afternoon, 5 days ago.

A good planner... let’s move him to DM
A good DM... let’s move him to Orientation.

We don’t seem to be moving our good people in the right direction... thinking we need people like Wally in Planning first or DM second...

    Orientation? No so much...
... but what do I know?
