That ended up being what I did, except that this time, since we have to go through Knight instead of Volvo, they told me to bring it back to the yard. I dropped the trailer back by the trailer shop and turned in a ticket. They will have to reschedule the delivery and it is now officially Someone Else's Problem.

I’m amazed the number of vehicles I see with their headlight on but no tail lights... ive never had a vehicle where one could turn on the headlights without first turning on the tail lights... or running/parking lights...

Surely can’t be that many out there with bad wiring. Seen like three semis with trailer lighting issues here recently too.

    so... check them lights!!! :)

It's the automatic headlight feature. Turns the headlights on, but that's all.
I guess people don't ever think to look !
My pickup has the auto high beams. Not a big fan of that either. Fords always have had bright headlights. Now I get blinded more than ever.

What a trip so far. Left RVA last Saturday morning, played the weatherman game all the way to York Nebraska. Beat the first storm to my first drop. As soon as I bumped the dock the snow came, and came. Snow packed roads all the way to Denver. Got up Tuesday morning, dropped Denver, then waited at the Wheatridge TA. Wyoming was completely shut down and there was a window of opportunity opening over Vail. They lifted the chain law and I left. Snow packed up to Eisenhower then wet roads all the way to SLC. Got empty then my reload came across.

I had to deadhead 168 miles to Green River Wyoming to reload going to Hammond Indiana for Friday afternoon. The roads were dry going to my pick up, then as far as Point of Rocks. From that point on, it was the worst weather and roads I ever experienced in my 40 years driving. Thank God it was daylight. I fought ground blizzards and high winds the rest of the day. The continental divide at Wamsutter was drifting and near zero visibility at times. I hit Elk Mountain just as darkness was falling. Thankfully it was just high winds and blowing snow. No ice at all. There was another blizzard coming in for last night and today so I decided to get out of Wyoming altogether. Up Sherman Hill from Laramie to Cheyenne was heavy snow, ground blizzard and high winds. Fortunately, it was so cold, the snow actually made for better traction. Trucks were evenly spaced, all doing the same speed limit, no passing and we made it to the state line in dry roads. I made it to the big truck rest area at the 76/80 junction and called it a night.

All I know is I that I’ve done everything in my power, with the help of the good lord to do my job safely and on time, I have home time on Monday, Wednesday my wife and I will be in Barbados, I’ll be home with or without my truck and trailer Monday sometime.

Here are just 3 pictures of Wednesday, in daylight. If anyone wants to start a discussion about these pictures being taken while I’m driving, have at it, I’m not getting involved. I took these 3 pictures for a reminder to myself about the poo we go through. The only difference with these pictures and any other ones? I had the same if not worse conditions at nighttime. 1DA106D9-FF4E-478D-92CA-18632A614E9D.jpeg 10800FF8-D0B7-4398-B377-EE790A05770A.jpeg E2907373-941A-499F-8CFC-6D23CE7F3F1B.jpeg

I called the local chamber of commerce for sightseeing pointers, they suggested staying in Chicago.

Checked in at delivery in Bartlett TN and sat in office for an hour before guy came and told me what door to back into. DM kept trying to get planner to put me on one of the Reno loads on yard in WM but gave me a live load in Jonesboro AR going to Walmart in Plainview Tx for Sunday, another load with an extra day to go over 700 miles with planner saying needed someone on it.....well told me live load was at 10am and I get there and was told the appt was at 2200 not 10am. Planners screwed up but ended up on a Reno load anyway since my 14 was up at 1730. Hopefully weather and roads stay clear on 40 this weekend as reports say they will be. Had to have my windshield replaced due to crack growing everyday that was in it when I moved into this truck. Glass guy got here in an hour after called, quick service. WM don't mess around thankfully. Glad Im domiciled out of here now.
