I don't remember seeing it either. Thinking it could be certain customers fining Abilene for dirty trailers or Abilene finding a petty way to make money off drivers. Maybe drivers whining too. I just pull my broom out and sweep if I got to, no complaints. If a driver can't climb up into a trailer they oughta get a small step ladder to keep with them. Who knows what going on with this message....

It has always been a “policy”, just never enforced. I’m glad it is now going to happen (supposedly). When you have to sweep and pull nails out of multiple trailers a day, you’ll know how much of a PITA it is. Not saying I’m one to complain to mgmt about it, I just do what needs doing. I need to get a step ladder, though. It’s heck climbing in/out of a trailer when you get older & fatter! ;). I swear I have less down time during my day now so exercise is the first thing that went by the wayside. When OTR, I always used my shower time to work out as well.

Indeed it would be good if they follow through. Last month I had to pull 57 nails and deal with all the trash then trying to go and pick up the load on time.

Careful doing jumping jacks in the slippery showers... and sit-ups on those floors? Never!

So... over the last couple weeks we’ve discussed trailers four months out of date on their inspections.... broken floor supports on trailers... now warnings about fines on unclean trailers...

@JohnBoy ... what is the status of that trailer inspection lane coming to RVA to address these issues??? Last I heard it was coming... but that was last summer or so... Did those plans get the Axe???

You’d be amazed at the exercises you can do without getting in the floor. And jumping jacks? Never. I’d give myself a black eye! :)

I'm sure there are others but Green Forest Cabinetry in Chesapeake fines us for dropping dirty trailers. There's a company message that comes with the load assignment stating how much, too.
