JB, your luck has rubbed off. My trainee decided OTR wasn't for him. At least he had the decency to let me know

Really? With all the late night discussions with him, time out of my busy schedule and countless sleepless nights, he decided this wasn't for him? Oh well, next.

In the beginning I took it personal when a trainee didn't make it, now it's just a numbers game. Like I tell all my trainees, I have a job, I'm not looking for training.

John, check this out. I just bought one myself. It's an export that is as powerful as the General Lee when peaked and tuned, but sits in a chassis the size of a Cobra 29.

Steve, where did you buy it at? Is it a 4 pin mic or a 5 pin. I've read some reviews about it and they all were very good.

I bought it online from Custom CB Radios. I've heard good things about them. As for the mike, it's a standard 4 pin. Now I just ordered it yesterday, so it'll probably come in a week or so. As for the included mike, it's a Ranger noise cancelling mike which has gotten some good reviews in it's own right. Some folks like them better than a 636L.

(edited to note that I must have bought the last one in stock. I just checked the page and he shows it as sold out currently)

It's turned out to be a blessing in disguise, I'm able to take home time and not worry about the next weeks miles. You are able to make up the loss miles if you decide to take an extra day or two off. I too thought it was going to be an issue, but it's turned out to be pretty good.

Hey JB, thanks for the thread and great information you and other posters provide for us newbs. I was wondering if working for Abilene I would be able to get any home time since I live in Corpus Christi TX? (Way South Texas...lol)
