Who may I ask is your DM. And trust me, if I ever got that phone call, it would be the last load I’d do as an Abilene driver.

Here’s the thing...there were a lot of those “there are 10 trucks going to the same place” Hill loads where dispatch would have the times scattered in the Qualcomm, but the BOL would have 6, 7, or 8 am. A lot of drivers would just show up early anyway. Or arrive the night before and get in line. Our own little FCFS world, ya know? And it worked, mostly. You didn’t start your clock and still got unloaded. Occasionally, you’d have the rouge driver who thought they should be first, but we all dealt with it like adults-WITHOUT dispatch getting involved. So, what changed?? A new sheriff is in town. A micromanaging company now holds the reins. Guess dispatch will be driving the trucks soon, too, seeing as how they told you where and how far out to stop. Or which route you have to take and fuel solutions, too.

I’m with JB on this one. I don't have the horsepower he has, or his short timers syndrome, but I still feel the same way.

I guess I meant to emphasize the change to stacking of LUL vs FCFS and starting our clocks before the LUL vs reserving clocks... not so much the touching base on how to get here... I didn’t take it as “being told”... just a former Driver giving advice that confused me as to why... but made a bit more sense after being informed of the stacking...

sorry if my emphasis was misplaced.

but ya, not going to be a habit... lol

I have a serious dislike on being told how to run my truck, especially from a “former” driver. My biggest pet peeve is a person in operations telling a driver “how” to do a drivers job, and has never been in possession of a CDL, which mind you, there’s plenty of them here, or someone off the road as a driver and now is going to tell me how to manage my truck. I have told people back at the office a number of times via the QC and phone, I’ve made it this far in my career because I’ve listened to me, not you. Sorry, it just burns my tush when a desk jockey, wants to tell me how to run my clock or drive my truck.

Anyone tells me that I’ll say “come drive it yourself then”.

Fortunately I don’t get demands like that and neither should anyone that gets the job done.

I really hope they don't start micromanaging stuff around here, granted there are some drivers that do need it but those that don't should be left alone. I always work it to where I can start my clock between 2-3 am so I always park far enough away to do so from shippers and receivers. Seems to drive the planners nuts though since my 14 always ends early in the day so they can't let me wait too long to get me reloaded.

Live load at Pretzels Inc in Bluffton Indiana. I like these snack food places because they usually have shelves of product for the driver. Got a couple barrels of pretzels which is my fav snack food. Down side is the salt but at least they are baked. Trying not to gain too much weight out here, lol! Going to Winco south of Portland OR. Prob bounce me home from there. 0100 appt but it is ok cuz Ill prob be there 4-5 hours like other Winco I went to in Boise ID.

Fork lift guy screwed up and put wrong pallet on my trailer and didn't scan anything either so next shift guy had to pull all pallets off to find the one that didn't belong on my trailer and scan everything else. Ill be glad to have 5 days off when I to home time. Too many frustrating things these last 5 weeks I been on the road....

As far as I’m concerned the ones that need babysitting should be replaced, not catered to, and certainly everyone else shouldn’t have to be dumbed down to their level.
