Nothing wrong with old school... and I am willing to learn... But I must have been asleep in the bunk the day my trainers covered that... (see why I wanted a refresher on your truck... lol)

I lost out on a whole day of driving... (1,400 in two days down to 780 in two days)

but the time to make Changes is not on the road with an already frustrated driver over the phone.

Ironically, when I came back in ‘18 I mentioned that mechanics is not my forte and that I would like to learn more... the reply “watch the pretrip video from YouTube”... great, so I point to a tire and say “the pad is supposed to be a minimum of 1/4 inch”... awesome, thanks...

If there is a change in the air, fine... but identify the 5, 6, 10 things that we are expected to be able to fix OTR and train us... certify that we can perform the tasks, and then expect action.

I’m not opposed to “being trained”...
but that implies “Training is Provided”

comparing drivers in one company to drivers in another company while there is an issue at hand, doesn’t get the issue fixed... nor provides training to anyone.... just pisses people off.

Might be a good topic to bring up to the Drivers Committee... :) ... when is that next meeting?

Brakes are the number one reason for OOS and driver fines. Minimally, that’s a must know. I’ve spent $115 of Abilene/Knight money to have a mud flap replaced. I draw the line with certain things. And after the fiasco with my longevity raise, I’ll be ###### if I’ll ever worry about spending their money. But brakes? I’ll always make sure they’re right. The driver committee? Haven’t heard a peep about it since last September.

Ended up in Wytheville to swap with a team... I can confirm that yard is overflowing with trailers. And nothing coming out of there. Sat waiting for a load all morning, not even a live load from Gatorade. Finally got my orders, move an empty from Wytheville to Groveport. A six hour drive. Get to Groveport and I’ve never seen that place so empty. Half the docks had trailers and not much of anything sitting along the fence. Felt like a ghost town. They got me a 3 stop load out of here to drop in Knoxville TN tomorrow morning so it’s going to be a short day unless they want it early which is hit and miss. Then To Smyrna TN then Forrest City.

    interesting times

    Soooo... Thats a first...

I know there are many different folks out here... some nice, some gruff, some ‘Mericans, some foreigners, some old school Truckers and us steering wheel holders...

But today I met my very first BAT $#|+ CRAZY!!!

was parked at the new Loves in Groveport last night... parked at 5:30 and it was already over freaking flowing. This morning the same way.

I go to leave and the truck ahead of me is parked mid turn... I try to squeeze my little bobtail by him and then I see why he was parked... driver trying to get into the last empty spot... (my bad, I should have known there was a reason) ... so I park and wait just off his left rear corner.

so then BSC Dude starts yelling at me from the truck behind both of us to get out of his way so he can get through... I try to yell back why it was that we were ALL stopped.

But he just kept yelling... and yelling...

Finally he hauls his hindquarters out of his truck... thinking to myself “ok, now he can see for himself” ... lol ... or this is going to get interesting.

nope, continues to yell at me to get out of his way ... I point and that doesn’t do any good... he keeps yelling at me... (which I’m not really fond of in general)... so I opt to vent a bit of pent up frustration back his way... lol ... (which felt really good)

The driver attempting to back pulls up enough to let a few people around him... guy ahead of me starts to move, I pull in behind him and BSC Dude starts to attempt to pass us on the right side... obviously he was in a big hurry. And obviously he wasn’t going to find any room to complete such a maneuver.

I hope he gets to his destination before Stoking Out.

I’d rather have him stroke out so I won’t run into him next week.

As long as he strokes out during a 10 or 34 and not OTR.
