    Ok... now that’s a first...

    “Contactless Shipping”

Rolled in for a LLD... sign on the door said to text this phone number with your pickup number.... ok... done.

they text back what door they want you in... bump the door and when you get the green light you pull away with BOL and Seal in the back.

shut the doors and seal it and roll.

in and out in under 30 minutes as well
just short of a Drop n Hook... lol

didn’t see or deal with one person... thinking I hope this becomes a thing in trucking... lol

I personally like my local job. I like the routine. Go to the same place get load. Then take the load to one of the two ports. Then get another empty, then repeat.

They tried that with me, and ran square into the fact that I don't have a smartphone. I made them bring me an actual paper BOL.

So do I. There are very few road jobs that would interest me.

I don’t like the SSDD routine most of the time. I get bored easily.

I don't know. Over and above the pay at my work, I just needed to be home every day to see my wife and these guys.

I'm a homebody, plain and simple.

3-4 hours turned into all night. Killed my 14 so went in this morning to get my load of TP. Put in for detention of course, but Ill only get it to when load was ready though. Dreading delivering to family dollar though, usually long unload times there, at least in my experiences. Twisty back roads out this morning ate up a good bit of clock today but Ill still be ok for delivery Monday morning.

Doesn’t “text messaging” predate smartphones? One should still be able to text without an Apple or Android device.

I picked up at Frito lay in Lynchburg VA, nobody at the gate, signs say park here, big sign says drivers go here, door locked, big mail boxes under a tent have signs for driver's to pick up their paperwork.

Drop trailer, pickup trailer, roll out. Never saw a single person anywhere.

Apparently the criminals haven't found this place yet. My trailer has 20k bags of chips on it, gate wide open, a little piece of plastic keeping it all safe.

You need a smartphone to receive an electronic copy of the BOL, which is what they were trying to send me.
