George, I started training for a couple of reasons, I'm at the end of my driving career, I wanted to give a new driver coming in to the profession something I've learned over the last 34 years. I figured doing this safely as I have, not hitting ANYTHING, and sharing some of my experiences would maybe get a newbie rolling on the right track, after this last year, the crap I've been put through, and this last winter, this is what I've come up with, this industry with it's new drivers will move along very nicely without my input. My health, mentally and physically can't take it. I promise my wife everytime I leave the house that I will come home the same way that I leave, training doesn't allow me to promise my wife that.

Left the house at 7am with my wife, had coffee at Dunkin Donuts, then drove the 6 miles and was empty and back home at 8:45. This honey do list turned out to be very expensive. I had to replace my pool pump motor, $362, had to diagnose, order and replace a circuit board on our refrigerator, $218, got both our cars serviced, $108. I know, poop happens, I did save $225 on the pool pump, $445 on the refrigerator repair and $58 on the cars. It's amazing what one can do with a little research on the internet. This is the third pump motor I've replaced in the 9 years we've had the pool installed, I've been able to repair a dishwasher, dryer and washer, and now the refrigerator myself. The savings on the cars was because my wife found 2 discount coupons online.

I called into dispatch and told Tim to make sure I'm assigned a load tomorrow so I can go make some coin.

Well Johnboy, I consider myself lucky that I got to train and team with you last winter. In short, it was a blast. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and taking me places I had never been before especially Little America, Jubitz, The Big Texan plus all the places Abilene sent us. I am sorry it didn't work out with Abilene. I was too green and it has taken me time to develop the omni awareness needed to operate these monsters, but rest assured I am getting there. Ten weeks consecutive drive cam top safety performer of the week at TA is something I can hang my hat on. I just needed and still need some seasoning. This is proving to be a worthwhile venture and hope to continue for many years to come. You showed me a great deal and showed me a great time. God bless you and Big Brin too, wherever he may be. It has been a great ride. I don't blame you for hanging up your trainers cap. It can shorten a life span considerably. Deuces.

Well it's show time. I have to leave this afternoon about 4pm to deadhead to Port Wentworth Ga and pick up a load of tile at 7:30 in the morning to drop in the Richmond yard Thursday evening. Today will be lounging in the pool day.
