Best sounding engines ever made are the old 2 stroke Detroit Diesels.

I retired 3 years ago and it gets boring. I might just end my retirement for awhile and get back out there! o_O

I can't imagine retiring completely. At the very least be in a position to take the winter months off and do OTR maybe 5 or 6 months per year.

I fully agree. That’s why in my wallet right next to my CDL is my Real Estate license I’ve had for the last 17 years. When I hang up my trucking flip flops, I’ll be working with my wife in her 25 year career. Just something we’ve been planning for the last 10 years.

I think its hard for an OTR driver to retire. At least its been that way for me. It really does seem to get in your blood.

I tried local for nearly 2 years and didn't like it. In all honesty I would still be local if it wasn't for Covid, but after returning to OTR after being laid off I know where I belong.

Early last month my manager from Sysco called and asked if I wanted to come back as things were picking up. I told him thanks, but no thanks I'm sticking with my sleeper.
