I’ve always said, The worst job with the least amount of job security, is any job in a trucking company that entails sitting in an office, the best job? A driver.

Indeed. Sat on the other side of the window for a few years at Smfd Packing. It was a decent place with a good supervisor...until Smfd and Gwaltney merged their fleets. Got a new supervisor. A nasty woman who had 20 years less with the company and a nasty attitude to match. I don’t know how in the world she got the top job over the guy that had been there 30 years and had worked all over the plant. She made my life hell for 6 months. Thought I wanted her job. No way. I was happy right where I was. It was a true nightmare. Even some of the drivers had it bad when she took over. One of them actually works here. Let’s just say she was a very prejudiced person and I will leave it at that.

Almost got hit head on this morning on the two lane section of us35. Bonehead CFI truck got impatient and decided to try and pass two trucks and a car last minute. I had to stop completely to avoid getting hit by him.

Glad it didn’t turn out worse. I always tell my wife that if she ever gets that phone call, rest assured it wasn’t because of something I did.

Hooked an empty trailer today at WalMart in Mt. Crawford, VA.

Inspection sticker was out of date.

Hauled it to Hill-Phoenix and left it there so that RC can find it later.

No no, just kidding. Load assignment said to drop it at Hill-Phoenix but I called my DM and told 'em I was taking it to the yard to get inspected.

Off tomorrow for a dentist appointment. A root canal may be in my near future. I am powerful excited.

LOL Well, that would require that I go there. And with the current ineptitude, that’s unlikely to happen. My latest adventure consisted of me telling the new DM he was an idiot and this is how the particular situation needed to be handled. Ugh! And I seriously doubt that my previous DM will be back-maybe in the bldg- but not at Abilene. I don’t know how much of the BS I can stand. Stupidity has always been a deal breaker for me.
