Headed to Miami with two drops for Friday. I’ll have 4300 miles in when done with less than an hour left on my 70. Will be doing a reset at the house this weekend. Nice the way this worked out.

Yeah I've got some stories like that. In addition to learning how things work in the office and how things can get lost in between driver/DM/planner/booker/rep, it was very eye opening to see drivers do things like cuss me out for low miles when they were running 4 of their 11 every day on 1000 mile drop and hooks, or have me figure out with the satellites where they were and give them turn by turn directions as they're driving, on a Hill Phoenix they're late on, while 6 other drivers are on hold trying to reach me for a half hour.
I realized that I can hold myself to my own standards as a driver and worry about whether I'm meeting those, but there's no reason to worry that the office is upset with my performance. And my own standards are way way higher anyway.
Now being a shuttle driver, I'm dispatched by the planner and the booker/rep, talk to them both directly instead of going through a DM. It's great. And they quickly get to know the kind of work I do. Although that sort of translates to things like giving me all the Philly runs they can but whatever. It's always and adventure and I like planning how to get in and out.Lonesome, MidWest_MacDaddy, ExtremeUnction and 1 other person Thank this. -

You were fine. In fact, there was only one out of the 14 that couldn’t handle the job of coffee maker. Won’t name names, but he was horrible.Lonesome, MidWest_MacDaddy and JustCallMeDriver Thank this.

Dropped in Jacksonville this morning then bounce to Savannah to get a load going Sysco in Front Royal. End of the day get my next preplan, Hill Phoenix three stopper to Ogden area. Asked if I could drop my Front Royal in the yard tonight since I was planning on spending the night here anyway and it worked out, let me drop in the yard so I can get rolling to UT in the morning. Kind of made no sense to me to leave Richmond to go to Front Royal then back track all the way back to Richmond again to head west again.

Pretty decent chance I'll take that to Front Royaljarhead0311 Thanks this.

I for one would love to hear some of the stories from the other side of the window… lol
I was in WM once talking to my DM and the new guy next door was calling a few of his drivers to make sure they were awake and getting ready… I laughed and asked about how often he did that and he said daily cause he’s the new guy… lol I guess the low man gets babysitting duty… LOLLonesome Thanks this. -
Shop informs me that nothing whatsoever is wrong with my coolant system, which puzzles me greatly because I know how much was in that reservoir when I parked it last Thursday and I know how much was in that reservoir when I got back in it Tuesday and there was a definite disparity between those two amounts.
But for now, I am back on the road in my own truck. Delivered a load of guitar cases to Franklin, TN this morning. Load assignment said their receiving was open from 4:30am to 8:00am, but it was not so. They didn't even start rolling in until around 6:30am.Lonesome, JustCallMeDriver and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this.
