That gasket blowing at 6600 miles is right in line with what I've heard about the new Cascadias, and in line with my needing a new clutch at 600 miles, and the DEF line (from where you put the DEF nozzle in, to the tank) melting off at 1200 miles.
First of all, it's stupid to have a line into the tank instead of filling directly into the tank. Secondly, the hole the line goes into is midway up on the tank instead of at the top. So anytime I was downhill as I was limping to the yard, I could watch the DEF guage go down as I spilled more DEF.
Thirdly, what the actual ####, how is it possible to melt this line brand new.JoeyJunk, dwells40, MidWest_MacDaddy and 2 others Thank this. -
Greed, plain and simple. And it doesn't help that politicians make it easier for them to justify it with added regulations and red tape.JoeyJunk, jarhead0311, dwells40 and 3 others Thank this.

Indeed. I’m still waiting on my seat to be delivered. And trust me, my neck/back/legs definitely feel the pain. I wonder what the powers that be would say if I tell them that I’m going to go out on workmans comp because of the health issues it’s causing me?JoeyJunk, JohnBoy, jarhead0311 and 6 others Thank this.

Yup… we need to learn from this little pandemic when we saw China putting our orders for PPE and Meds behind their own… or turning a whole ship around… not saying they did anything wrong but ya, if they want to squeeze us and we rely on them for simple meds, that could be serious. And yes, even just parts. We have folks here that need to be put to work too.
yes… as mentioned… Greed and Politicians.

Yeah, what good did ten dollar Walmart sneakers get you if your self proprietor retail store got run out of business and that ten bucks is your hourly wage at Walmart
To say nothing of the supply chain issue in a world where everyone is reliant on the supply chain and nobody is running a self-sufficient family farmJoeyJunk, MidWest_MacDaddy, JohnBoy and 1 other person Thank this. -

My mini vacation continues. Had a nice enjoyable relaxing weekend. Went to the mall and bought a bathing suit, rented a car and went to Venice Beach on Saturday. It’s got a little run down since the last time I was here with my wife 20 years ago, but it was nice to dip my feet in the Pacific Ocean. Yesterday I took a ride up to Hollywood to visit the Hollywood sign then went to the Santa Monica Pier for lunch.
Today I waited all day for a word about my clamp/gasket that’s being manufactured somewhere in the mountains of northern Mexico. I decided to grab a steak at the Outback Steakhouse. While sitting and enjoying a NY strip, I get 2 phone calls, one from the Detroit dealer and one from our director of maintenance Joe. The dealer tells me the new DEF tank will be in tomorrow to replace the one that has only 6650 miles on it that is leaking like a broken water main. The part that’s under construction somewhere in northern Mexico is still MIA. Joe told me he expects to have one at the dealer this week. I told him as bored as I am, I’ll hang here until Thursday. If it isn’t in by then I’m flying home and taking a weeks vacation and will fly back to get the truck when the northern Mexico manufacturers are done making it. If after the week of vacation it still isn’t in the US, then I’ll take another weeks vacation. Most of my belongings are in the truck, I don’t mind leaving it in a secure, locked environment, I just won’t ever leave it at a terminal, not saying I don’t trust total strangers that have matching keys, hell, who am I kidding, I don’t trust anyone. That comes from experience. When I first hired on here 8+ years ago, I had to take a loaner while my truck was in the shop, 3 days later when I got back, most of my stuff was history. That is why I’ll stay in a hotel or fly home from now on.
I have to pack up tonight. I paid for 4 nights for this room based on the weekend rate. The next 3 nights are $60 per night cheaper but requires me to check out and check back in into a different room. Even though I’m being reimbursed for all this, I still care about the Abilene/Knight bottom line.jarhead0311, MACK E-6, hotrod1653 and 5 others Thank this. -
Somebody took my bucket and reflective vest out of a loaner last week
Everything else seems to have been there boxed up in the detail bayMidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this. -
Would someone PM me the gate code to Volvo in Jacksonville? Pretty sure I’m going to be there after hours tonight. TY
