Put in for 3 hours of detention. HOS was running on fumes when I left. Only option for parking was to park at the Boar's Head in Mableton.
Not the first time I've parked back here in the absence of other alternatives. Come to think of it, the last time I parked here was coming from the same shipper after they racked up 2-3 hours of detention.
Last time Boar's Head knocked on my door at 3:00am asking if me and my dry van had a delivery for 'em. This time I have affixed a sign to my truck informing them that I don't have a delivery. Hopefully they'll read it before knocking.Last edited: Sep 14, 2021

I’m pretty sure I’ll be at the mothership tomorrow for the cookout. I haven’t made a “Driver Appreciation” jamboree since I’ve worked here. All the yearly chachkes ever given out I usually wind up getting
6-8 months later, if they hadn’t run out of said chachkes. I’m just happy for the sausage and peppers on the menu with the baked beans and slaw. -

As much as I appreciate the few cookouts at the terminal I’ve attended, it always amazes me how some drivers act as though it’s the first time they’ve been at a social gathering in their entire life. I also get a kick out of the drivers that show up at these cookouts like it’s a local food bank with their Tupperware to fill up with leftovers, I mean really, how much leftover baked beans and cole slaw can one eat?Last edited: Sep 14, 2021

Well I was pleasantly surprised today. I got to the terminal after picking up a loaded trailer at Jarratt to a very nice BBQ. Had a very nice sausage pepper and onion hero, baked beans and homemade macaroni salad. It all was very good. Sat and talked with a few new drivers, a couple of our operations folks and finished it off with a chocolate chip cookie. I was really wanting the cole slaw that was advertised, but let me tell you, those baked beans and macaroni salad was off the charts. Very impressed, and to the people from inside that read what we have to say on our little world here, pass along my heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
I’m on the Boars Head vortex. Picked up a loaded trailer yesterday at 6am in Groveport, delivered that at 5am this morning in Wilmington NC. Got a deadhead move to Boars Heard in Jarratt to drop the empty, then on my way up to Jarratt my reload came across the QC, pick up a loaded trailer that was ready going back to Boars Head in Groveport. Then about 4:30 my reload came across for tomorrow morning, pick up a loaded trailer at Boars Head Groveport with the 2 stopper going to Tualatin and Sisters Oregon for Monday. This works out perfectly. I’ll be sitting in Jubitz Saturday about 5pm and start a reset and be finished Monday morning to go and make the 2 drops. At least I won’t be loosing 2+ days after getting empty on a reset. I’ll be ready to reload as soon as I get empty.jarhead0311, Lonesome, runningman0661 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Took off from Temple Ga at midnight to get to jacksonville volvo by 0600, get 30 miles from dropping and I10 is shutdown due to and accident involving two trucks. Looked like a container driver pulled off the shoulder from a dead stop in front of a fedex truck, wasn't much left of the fedex truck, hope he or she made it out ok. Sheer stupidity of some drivers amazes me out here, don't know why anyone would would pull off a shoulder from a dead stop in a big heavy truck in front of someone.
Lonesome, mitrucker, runningman0661 and 3 others Thank this.
