    @JohnBoy Far be it from someone in my age group to try and offer you advice, but Runningman’s last sentence here summed up my feelings nicely.

    Does the devil you know drive you batty enough to jump ship for the devil you don’t?

    That’s not a leap I personally could make without a substantial pay increase.

    Didn't take a substantial increase for me to jump. I was sick and d**n tired of the BS. I made a lateral move, money wise.

    I originally gave up open deck work to come to my outfit for $4 more an hour. But for all the grumbling I do about our operation, I personally think other LTL’s have it worse. We at least don’t rebid runs constantly, make a guy drive different equipment every day, or run 2 seniority lists. Things would have to really go south to make me jump ship.

    Hauling heavy equipment was more enjoyable, but the money just wasn’t there.

    Sounds like what happened with Holland Enterprises. They used to take care of the drivers, hire quality over quantity and such. They stopped that for a bit and now they are back to that. Glad I left them.
